I have repurposed an old Bawls Soda bottle into an energy efficient hallway light. I used 18 gauge wire, six high output 5v LED bulbs, some heat shrink, a 12v toggle switch, and an old cell phone charger. Basically I stranded the LEDs in a parallel circut, and wired them with an inline toggle switch between the LEDs and the spliced cell phone charger. The charger puts out 5v 2A max, but by my calculations, it should only be drawing about 2 watt of power. The bottle gives the light a neat color, and texture on the wall, and isn't obtrusive as a night light.
